The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) is an Executive Agency of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and is responsible for ensuring the safety, quality and efficacy of veterinary medicines in the UK.

We have a vacancy for a Senior Executive Officer in our Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) team based in Addlestone, Surrey.

This exciting and interesting job puts you at the heart of the VMD's AMR policy team as we deliver the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs' (Defra)  commitments in the UK's 5 year action plan for antimicrobial resistance, which supports the UK's 20-year vision for AMR.  You will be responsible for coordinating cross-Defra delivery of the UK's National Action Plan (NAP).

As Cross-Defra NAP coordinator, you will:

ensure that VMD and cross-Defra actions on AMR are coordinated, delivered and reported effectively

support the Defra co-chair of the cross-Whitehall AMR NAP Delivery Board

be the Defra Group point of contact on AMR coordination with the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) programme management team.
