IT Manager - Bath / Home Based - Project / Delivery Management, 3rd party supplier management, Process Improvement, 3rd/4th line, Azure, O365, PowerShell, Active Directory, Windows 10, SQL, Prince2, ITIL, Linux, AWS My client based in Bath are looking to take on an IT Manager to join their organisation on an initial 6 month fixed term contract basis with the intention of making this person permanent at the end of this. The role is only on a fixed term basis to be cautious in relation to everything going on with Covid 19 etc, and their strong preference is to make the role permanent thereafter.

The role has a generous package including a salary of £45,000 - £60,000pa plus discretionary bonus up to 15%, 8% non contributory pension scheme, 25 days' holiday plus bank holiday rising by one day for each year of service to a max of 28 days, 4 x life assurance, Health cash plan which you can put kids on for free and a whole host of other great benefits too. The role will be fully remote until December at least and thereafter will be require some on-site working. The role can be predominantly home based but there is a strong preference for someone based fairly locally to allow them to be on-site at short notice if needed. The process is going to be fully remote and they are looking to set up interviews with candidates ASAP and get this person started right away if possible.

The role is quite broad and varied and they are looking for a hands-on technical individual with 2+ years' management experience to act as a point of escalation on support queries as needed, project & delivery management on various projects they have ongoing and coming up in the near future, understanding business needs to recommend changes and improvements in tools, technologies and platforms internally & externally and 3rd party supplier management.

During the initial 6 months there won't be any line management responsibilities, but should the role go permanent at intended, you will be responsible for 2 support engineers. A big part of the role initially will be looking at process improvements and service delivery around their support function and drawing upon your professional experience to make recommendations for improvements on this and also managing 2 major projects: the first looking at improving security controls on part of one of their platforms, the second migrating web servers from one 3rd party to Amazon.

Essential Skillset / Experience

- 2+ years' IT Management experience

- Technical support / infrastructure background

- Process improvement

- Project Management / Delivery Management

- 3rd party supplier management

- 3rd / 4th line hands on escalation experience & capability

- Microsoft technologies: Windows 10 / Office 365 (O365/M365), SharePoint, SQL Server 2016, Azure

- Active Directory (AD) & PowerShell

Desirable Skillset / Experience

- Open source knowledge of Linux, Drupal, AWS would be desirable

- ITIL / Prince2 / similar qualifications would be desirable
