BI & Analysis Solutions Team Leader

Location: Brighton

Role PurposeWe're looking for an analytical Team Leader, to lead and line manage a team of statistical/research analysts, and more broadly to act as the lead for analytical processes and pensions/SME analysis within the organisation, and as a representative for the client within government and the wider regulatory community. Key Accountabilities: Lead and line manage the core team of pensions and statistical/research analysts (currently 5 analysts), overseeing delivery of: modelling and analysis services; statistical publications; research papers; BI, data visualisation and dashboarding; and, event triggers / real-time alertsOversee and coordinate the provision of analytical services on a range of strategic and operational issues, on both a proactive and reactive basis. Essential Criteria:MSc in empirical subject (e.g. statistics / engineering / mathematics / economics) or equivalent professional experience.5+ years' experience of working in, and leading analytical teams within a commercial, government or regulatory environmentStrong track record of designing, developing, and implementing analytics-driven interventions that have improved business performanceExperience of planning and coordinating delivery of an annual portfolio of analytical products, involving a range of competing stakeholders, whilst simultaneously managing day-to-day operational and adhoc requests for analytical servicesDemonstrable experience of managing the day-to-day needs of building and developing an analytics team Desirable:Understanding of pensions at the micro and macro levels, across all sectors including the AE regime, and other knowledge relevant to the domain (macroeconomics/financial markets; official statistics code of practice; etc)Experience with Microsoft Power BI (or similar data visualisation tools), SAS/SQL, R, and desirably Python - in general, a familiarity with a wide analytical toolsetWorking knowledge of Git, AzureDevOps, and AGILE or Dev/DataOps workflow methodologiesAbility to prioritise and use initiativeProactive and can-do approachProblem solving and analytical skillsPersonable and a team playerLeadership skills
