The purpose of the role is to deliver and support transformational ICT services throughout, providing staff, pupils and other stakeholders with an outstanding ICT experience. Working as the Senior IT Systems Engineer, you will be confident in your abilities to help others get the most from the ICT systems, with interpersonal skills to match your technical expertise. Key Responsibilities - Maintain IT systems to the highest standard, ensuring their security and availability are optimised
- Ensure staff, pupils, parents and all stakeholders receive exceptional IT services and support
- Provide the go-to ‘face of ICT' for the school, dealing enthusiastically and promptly with requests and issues
- Liaise with all 3rd party ICT companies to ensure that services meet the needs of the school
- Oversee the provision and operation of Audio-Visual services and systems at the school
- Meet all SLA measures for the ICT and AV services
- Work closely with the Junior IT Support Engineer and supervise their daily activity Skills and Experience - A degree or equivalent, relevant CompTIA and Microsoft certifications are all highly desirable
- Significant demonstrable experience in a user-facing ICT role
- Education sector experience is desirable
- Experience of running an ICT helpdesk
- A broad range of technical skills and experience is desirable, to include servers, storage, networks and WiFi, end user devices, audio-visual services and much more About You You will be an optimistic, approachable and empathic person. You will have the technical and interpersonal skills to be the go-to person in the IT department. Nothing will be too much trouble and when you don't have instant answers, you will give reassurance that you will own the issue through to resolution. This role is as much about presenting a confident and enthusiastic persona as it being an excellent technical person. About the Organisation The school has 900 pupils and is located near Leatherhead in Surrey, on a large leafy campus with excellent facilities. The school has invested significantly in IT systems and facilities, utilising the latest Microsoft, DellEMC and Ruckus server and network technology as well as having embraced Microsoft Office365 and Microsoft Teams. They use state-of-the-art firewalls and cyber-security systems, including Cisco firewalls, iboss web filter, Impero monitoring and Splunk SIEM. Other systems in use include VMWare, Veeam backup and Recovery, Sophos Anti-Virus, 3CX VoIP telephony, PRTG network monitoring, Bodet bell and alert system and modern HD CCTV among others. The audio-visual facilities are outstanding, including a large LED video wall and professional audio system in the main school hall.
