R Development Lead (R / SQL / Implementation)£450 per day (inside IR35)Initial 2 month contract - potential extensionNorth Yorkshire To work with the Head of Intelligence to build analytical capabilities and assess opportunities to share and enhance services across partner agencies.To provide leadership in designing, defining and testing new tools (including open source) to enhance predictive data modelling approaches.Lead on the upskilling of team resources in predictive modelling.To assess what needs to be accomplished from a business perspective, design suitable data models, test how well they 'fit' the problem/question being asked and then deciding upon the most appropriate model which best meets the objectives Create, test and model hypotheses to develop business analytics knowledge and use a suite of available tools, open source programming and packages, to create and test hypotheses in order to determine robust methods for future demand requirements.Research, identify and test tools associated with predictive modelling to identify those most appropriate to operational and organisational needs.Develop the software and analytical capabilityDevelop customer, stakeholder or partner maturity in understanding, the value that could be added to their key Management Information indicators.Using a range of statistical and analytical techniques, analyse and manipulate data in order to model and forecast Management information.Maintain knowledge of both statutory data returns and local performance indicators.Represent as subject matter expert when appropriate.To work with Technical support services in order to build understanding of interdependencies of data structures and software tools applicable to providing robust and accurate analyticsEnsure all data is compliant to GDPR and data protection requirements. Criteria to match to be consideredExcellent IT and interpersonal skillsExperience in developing predictive models using programming languages such as python and RExperience of Microsoft products including BI, SQL and report servicesExperience of collating and developing report requirement specifications and presenting findings to audiences
