They are seeking to recruit an IT Support Engineer, who will report to the IT Service Manager, based out of their Stratford Upon Avon Office.

The successful post-holder will act as a technical resource within IT department and play a key role in implementing projects and helping maintain an existing customer base, it is imperative that any work completed results in infrastructure, systems, and services, being reliable, scalable, secure, efficient, well-controlled and documented, adhering to ITIL best practices.

This is a genuine career opportunity for a talented 3rd Line IT Support Engineer / Technician experienced in Windows Server and Virtualization technologies and Layer 2 / 3 networking. On offer is a key position working on a broad range of the latest technology, with a team of talented colleagues.

Travel to customer sites will be required as part of the role so a clean UK driving license and own vehicle is essential.

Your key responsibilities will consist of:Installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of infrastructure and systemsOffer expertise within the team for the resolution of all technical incidents and problemsMake a significant contribution in delivering continual tangible and measurable benefits and value in terms of improving customer service & satisfaction and operational efficiency, whilst reducing risk and operational costs to minimal levelsProactively identify opportunities and create and deliver robust business case proposals to team Manager to improve reliability, stability, and efficiencyInstigate and orchestrate changes to infrastructure and systems, in line with change control processesFacilitate and typically lead, the management of medium/large technical projects and complex work packages into business as usual operationsSupport, coach and mentor the more junior members of the team, leading by exampleContribute with ideas and suggestions on continuous service improvementDevelop, produce and maintain IT documentation and following IT procedures as required DesiredYou will require strong technical knowledge and understanding in these key areas:Microsoft Server technologies; MS Server, MS Clustering, Active Directory Services, Group Policy, Windows Remote DesktopVirtualisation technologies; VMware ESX Server, Hyper-VServer Hardware: HPE & Dell Servers.vSphere, HA, Citrix XenAppMicrosoft Azure, Office 365Backup/Archiving technologies; Veeam Backup and ReplicationServer Networking including TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, DHCPScripting knowledge (PowerShell)Disaster Recovery, Replication and Recovery servicesStorage technologies: SAN (HPE)Experience supporting SME / Enterprise level infrastructuresExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills to achieve prompt resolutionStrong experience of incident and problem management including 3rd party service providersCapable of managing concurrent projectsSolid operational understanding of service management standards and tools; ITIL V3 Foundation qualifiedIndustry recognised qualifications including but not limited to Microsoft Certified (MCSA, MCSE) and VMWare Certified Professional (VCP)
