IT Service Manager / Infrastructure Engineer (technically hands on role, we are NOT looking for a hands off Service Desk Manager)

Close to Liverpool City Centre, parking available. 8.30-17.00 hours.

£45,000-£50,000 DOE + benefits

Purpose:-

To provide and maintain the IT Business Services and corresponding support environment by actively managing the IT Service Desk function.

The IT Business Services include all the user facing IT systems and applications which are used to manage and operate the wider business. This includes desktop and other personal hardware, software, line of business applications and enterprise applications.

Responsibilities:-
 Provide major input into IT strategy including forward plans for IT Business Service design and implementation and any related IT processesProvide the Service Desk function to the internal businesses for IT Business ServicesManage a team of engineers in the IT Service Desk function with a "hands on" approach to both technical and administrative rolesContinuously maintain a high level of quality for end user supportAct as a technical authority for the IT Business Services, providing ongoing advanced support and guidance to staffReport on the effectiveness of the parts IT Service Management system related to both Service Desk and IT Business ServicesDevelop relationships with key management leaders and provide ongoing reporting on IT Business Services to key stakeholdersIdentify IT Business Service requirements and propose solutions in conjunction with key stakeholdersProactively identify areas of improvement within the IT Business Services and implement changes as appropriateProvide and manage implementation resource from within the team to meet business requirements for projectsMaintain Business Services by monitoring, measuring, and optimising and reporting performance of all components of the IT Business ServicesEnsure data integrity by regular data backup and recovery auditsLiaise with 3rd party vendors, resellers and support teams as required to develop relationships, new requirements and maintain the existing IT Business ServicesEnsure that an adequate quantity of documentation is in place and that is it up to date such that, in the event of absence, other staff can resolve common IT issuesManage IT Business Service changes into the production environmentEnsure that IT Business Services are patched and updated in line with internal and external support policiesTechnical skills:-
 Excellent knowledge and proficiency in the installation, configuration and maintenance of key Microsoft technologies including Windows Desktop operating systems, Windows Server, Active Directory and Office 365 componentsExcellent knowledge and proficiency with tools for the centralised management, deployment and security controls for devices, software and other IT systemsKnowledge and proficiency with IT service management softwareKnowledge and proficiency with backup and recovery requirements for IT systemsKnowledge and proficiency with SQL Server scripting
