Are you an Open Source Developer with a strong background in Linux/Unix Administration?Do you want to work closely with stakeholders whilst enhancing your technical knowledge and expertise within Cyber Security?
I am working on behalf of an organisation in Cyber Security and Defence to help the recruit a skilled Open Source Developer to add to their Cyber Security Team.
Role Responsibilities:Pro-actively maintain the performance of the system.Identify and provide resolution of performance anomalies and system defects.Design and deploy developed capability into the pre-production and operational environments.Liaise with the Operations Team on the automation of processes.Essential:Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration.Knowledge of Linux as a deployment platform- e.g. package management, networking configuration, log files, environment variables.Knowledge of least one of the following programming languages - Python, Java, JavaScript, C or C++.Knowledge of at least one of the following - RHEL, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu.Understanding of automation/configuration management - e.g. AnsibleKnowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service. Desirable:Previously in a DevOps teamKnowledge of Big Data Solutions - e.g. HadoopNetworking familiarity - e.g., HTTP protocol, TCP/IPRoot cause analysis and debugging to aid in resolution of functional and performance defectsDevelopment and awareness of vulnerabilities and how to defence against them.Due to the nature of this work, the ideal candidate will hold live SC Clearance and be eligible and willing to go through DV.
