My client is one of Europe's largest independent retailer for table top hobbies and leading brand name - due to large growth they are recruiting a PHP Developer

My client are looking to expand their Web team with a dynamic and focused Symfony Developer to work in there head office located just outside of Southend in Essex.

Responsibilities will include designing, building, and maintaining the company's

expanding range of websites and business applications.

To succeed in this position, you will need a combination of strong web development skills and commercial awareness combined with a proven ability to create high end tools and applications. You will be rewarded with a competitive salary, 28 days per year holiday and significant promotion opportunities for the right individual.

Requirements:

*Extensive PHP (Symfony) development experience is essential

*Comfortable using javascript, and upcoming related technologies/libraries.

*Experience working with other front end technologies such as HTML CSS and JavaScript

*Know what impacts the speed of a website from both the front and backend and take it into consideration with every piece of code you write.

*Have experience with and also be able to use a version control system. (GIT)

*Experience integrating PHP and JavaScript through asynchronous requests or other modern techniques.

The ideal candidate:

*Has commercial web development experience

*Has an understanding of the development process

*Has a polished portfolio with examples of your work

*Is able to show the thought process behind your work

*Is more than capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously

*Is able to work autonomously and as part of a small team

*Self-motivated and problem solving mind set
