Role and Responsibilites
 
The main responsibility of the Senior C++ Software Engineer is to develop, extend and support our client's software and products to meet new market and user requirements. The team uses agile development techniques.
 
We are looking for a Senior C++ Software Engineer who is looking for a challenge and keen to work on back end server components for our client's software. This will involve writing and maintaining code to gather data from remote devices and handling that data within the server. This will require an enthusiastic C++ developer who likes complex problem solving for big server applications.
 
You will be working with an advanced wide area telemetry package with proprietary online database, extensive support for telemetry and integrated package. It is used in large wide area's monitoring assets and plant, for example monitoring water networks for water companies.

My client will train you in in their bespoke software, while you initially spend time developing smaller features and fixing bugs. Over time this will progress to include larger development tasks, for example adding new features to the server or supporting new protocols to talk to devices.

Key SkillsYou will have strong knowledge in C++.Excellent knowledge in C++ Standard Libraries.You will have multi-threaded application development capability.You possess strong problem solving and analytical skills.You have strong knowledge with Microsoft Visual Studio.Development in a Windows environment.A strong knowledge of writing software for large distributed systems (eg client/server)Desirable SkillsYou have knowledge with Agile development techniquesYou have knowledge in C#Salary/Benefits
 
Up to £60,000 DOE
