This is a fantastic opportunity to join a market leading manufacturing organisation as a Technical Engineer based in South WalesClient DetailsA market leading manufacturing organisation looking for a Technical Engineer based in South WalesDescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties including hands on technical support, vendor management, project management, upgrades and new technology roll out, end user training etc…Key responsibilities:Providing hands on technical support to all technologyFull lifecycle resolution of all technical issues - identify, resolving or escalating to the IT managerDay to day you will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing operations and organisation business users for a variety of hardware and software related issues such as hardware; label printers, weighing scales, scanners, scanner guns & Software; AS400 applications, bespoke programmes (RPG and SQL), EDI / VMI programmesMonitoring of automated EDI and VMI messages with company systemInstall, maintain, support & configure operating systems and organisational applicationsDiagnosing and resolve all hardware or software faultsNetworking - identify and troubleshoot resolve system and network problemImplementation of new technology - hardware and software / applicationsNew starter set ups - new user accounts and profiles and resolve access management issues i.e. passwordsProject manage small, end-to-end IT projects - software & hardware projectsWork with 3rd party suppliers and vendors to resolve and technical issues that need to escalate which cannot be resolved internallyMobile device managementBack up and disaster recovery supportSupport and continuously improve network securityManagement reportingProvide end user trainingTesting & safety - UAT testing of new technology & electrical safety checks on computer equipment. ProfileThe person:Knowledge of RPG and SQL programming languages - desirableGood general knowledge of all things ITGood hands on technical experienceExperience of working in complex supply chain organisationsTenacious and self-motivatedStrong communicatorJob Offer£30k - £40k based on experience + benefits
