This role working with an award winning digital consultancy can offer a mutitude of opportunities including fast tracked career progression, working with cutting edge technology and a mass variety of work. As part of a new requirement, there is a huge focus on for a principal DevOps engineer focusing on building a strong DevOp's team. You will be working side by side with a variety of members of the organisation in order to deliver digital solutions on an enterprise level. You will have the option of working on a variety of projects for clients in both private and public sectors. My client are looking for someone from an AWS background with a well known name within the marketplace, who can almost act as a 'figurehead for the community'. The successful applicant will have a lot of autonomy to shape the team and build it up from the ground. The role will be split 50/50% hands on and the rest of their time will be managing/building out the team.

My client prides themselves on being able to use cutting edge technology to deliver ground breaking solutions. To do so they look to use the right tool for the job. This could be working with multiple cloud platforms in AWS and Azure whilst using Kubernetes and Terraform.

As a Principal consultant, no two days will be the same. However there are a few responsibilities that will remain consistent. Working on: CI/CD pipelines, Cloud Architecture, Containers, Automation and Configuration Management. In addition to being hands on, you will have the opportunity to grow the DevOps practice and establish an entire agile team.

My client have highlighted the below skills as essential, when considering applicants for this role:

Containerisation - Experience with Docker is essential, including the use of container orchestration with Kubernetes or Docker SwarmCloud - AWS/Azure/GCPConfiguration Management Tools - Experience using at least one of the following: Puppet, Chef, Terraform, AnsibleSoftware Engineering - Experience with Python or Java is essentialLeadership/Stakeholder management - Managing large scale teams whilst working closely with C-Level stakeholders.

In return, you will benefit from a highly networked and very flat structured organisation. This means that people with an Entrepreneurial self-managed approach can really contribute to the strategic direction of the practice and be heard. In terms of package, my client can offer a competitive salary (between £70,000 - £85,000) alongside a non-contributory pension (10%), Bonus (10%-15%) private health care and 1 Day remote work.
