Head of IT / IT ManagerWe are currently working in an exclusive partnership with one of our tier 1 clients based in the heart of the Midlands.  We are looking for an experienced Head of IT / IT Manager to join our client at an exciting time of growth and expansion.Role PurposeTo develop and deliver the technology strategy as well as the management and continuous improvement of the technology systems and processes.  To play an active role in shaping the strategic direction of the business technology initiatives through contributing professionally to a variety of initiatives, new developments and projects. Working in close alignment with the parent company, learning and taking the lead from them. Managing the UK IT team.Key Responsibilities

'€¢Lead all UK IT operations including service delivery, infrastructure and IT project management.'€¢Act as the focal point for all technology and drive innovation and change to deliver new solutions and efficiency.'€¢Plan, organise, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations.'€¢Manage our key IT third party suppliers and keep abreast of new technological developments, as well as the advantages and value that can be added to our systems.'€¢Deliver an innovative, high performing, IT support service across the organisation and ensure that we work in-line with industry best practice such as ITIL, for all our approved devices.'€¢Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems.'€¢Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organisational policy'€¢Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time.'€¢Audit systems and assess their outcomes to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to secure and backup all systems and data; to develop and implement any plans, systems and measures necessary to support business continuity and to ensure that our disaster recovery strategy is up-to-date and deliverable.

Essential Experience

'€¢Minimum 2 years' experience as an IT Manager/Head of IT in a fast paced, commercially focused business'€¢Experience in delivering major projects (£0.5m+) on time and budget'€¢Experience of leading multi-functional teams to deliver high-quality results.'€¢Expertise in data centre management and data governance'€¢Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation

Functional / Personal Skills

'€¢Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems'€¢Analytical, technology led professional with a firm understanding of technology principals, with the ability to translate technical projects into plain and simple language'€¢Excellent organisational and influencing skills'€¢Excellent analytical and problem solving skills'€¢Experience of SAP highly desirable'€¢Understanding of complex information and requirements'€¢Good prioritisation skills and be flexible enough to adapt plans'€¢Good evaluation skills'€¢Good communications skills - written and verbal'€¢Great IT skills combined with a good head for business'€¢Confidence in decision-making'€¢A good team-playing mentality'€¢Good leadership skills'€¢An ability to work to tight deadlines and within constraints
