Job Title: Assembly Planner and Progress ChaserLocation: Leeds, West YorkshireSalary: £23,000 - £25,000 per annumJob Type: Full Time, Permanent (37 hours per week - Monday to Friday)The company is a US hydraulics company with facilities located strategically around the globe. The Leeds site is currently recruiting an Assembly Planner/ Progress Chaser. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a proactive approach who wants to be involved in the day to day running of a busy business. Ideally suited to someone with previous experience in a similar role who thrives in a team working environment.The Company will invest in your development, equipping you with the technical skills for the present and ensuring you have a fulfilling, long-term career.Main duties will include:Peg work and create route cardsCorrectly plan work through the existing ERP SystemCreate work to lists for the shop floor using existing systemsAssist with making sure delivery dates to customers are achievedGain understanding of parts and products to be able to interrogate costs and delivery dates entered into the systemPlan resource based on times to ensure overtime is avoided as much as possible and work is evenly loaded throughout the month.Issue pick list to stores for work to be picked 2 weeks in advance. Any shortages to be reported to purchasing to recover and stick with original plan and hit customer promise dates.To manage, maintain and continue with the development of the MRP system (Javelin/Jobshop)To co-ordinate with sales & production to best achieve production workflow and prioritiesTo work proactively and liaise with the sales team in terms of providing general information regarding capacity, delivery times to ensure all customer demands are met.Coordinate, plan and prioritise operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delayMonitor jobs and highlight potential bottlenecksAddress issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruptionResolve capacity issues by prioritised schedulingTo monitor and ensure Health & Safety standards are metReview, maintain and develop Risk Assessments & Safe Operating ProceduresPerson Specification:Technical/Job SpecificYou must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office including ExcelProven planning experience with extensive knowledge of Jobshop/Javelin software or similar is desirable.Ideally you will be experienced in a manufacturing or similar environmentIdeally you will be someone who is already carrying out purchasing related activities as part of your current roleAbility to prioritise work load effectivelyCore SkillsAttention to detail and good communication skills are essential to this roleYou must be able to work to contract specific deadlines and communicate confidently with all internal departments and shop floor operatives.Excellent organisation skills.Excellent problem solving skills.Personal QualitiesThe company operates within a dynamic and fast paced environment; to thrive in this role you will need to be friendly, approachable, flexible, highly organised and have excellent communication skillsYou will be someone that is open to learn new skills and adapt to the company's processes, systems and procedures, whilst also suggesting improvements where needed.Proven people skills are required; you must have ability to work with others while effectively handling internal pressures.Strong personal accountability with a team working ethic for timely completion of tasksWhen applying you should provide a covering letter detailing your salary expectations and availability to commence work.The site is conveniently situated approximately 1 mile from the centre of Leeds with easy transport links to both the city centre and the motorway.All candidates must be currently eligible to both live and work in the United Kingdom.Please click on the APPLY button to send your CV and Cover Letter for this role.Candidates with the experience or relevant job titles of; Assembly Planner, Production Planner, Progress Chaser, Production Coordinator, Assembly Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Production Planning, Planning Coordinator, Production Controller, Manufacturing Planner, Production Operator may also be considered for this role
