C# / VB / VBA OTC Derivatives  Developer- Investment Banking

VB / VBA developer with good C# required maintain and develop solutions using Microsoft applications and technologies, predominantly VBA within Excel and Access tools for OTC Derivatives.

Essential

Ability to program in VB / VBA using the Microsoft Office object model (MS Access/MS Excel) and to develop efficient and robust SQL queries in a variety of RDBMS platforms including;

MS Access, Oracle and MS SQL Server;

Ability to program in C# / .NET technologies;

Ability to maintain and develop database-centric solutions such as stored procedures and triggers

A Good Knowledge of XML concepts and capabilities And structured software testing and the SDLC. Familiarity with .SVN source code control software and knowledge of source code management practices. Ability to work with and manage multiple users across different types of application.

Desirable

Python programming experience and a Working knowledge of Fixed Income products and concepts. Knowledge of OTC Derivatives (Credit / IR / Equity).

Knowledge of the FpML standard Experience with Atlassian JIRA; HTML5/Angular JS/Typescript experience; Knowledge of Git and also practical experience of software design allied with TDD / BDD.

The role exists within the IT development department of a Tier-One European Investment Bank, focussed on Operational trade processing for OTC derivatives. The role is first tasked with the ongoing support of a portfolio of small applications that have been implemented using light Microsoft technologies (Access / Excel / ODBC) over many years.

This application uses technologies including C++, C#, Angular JS, Oracle SQL and Python. It is the objective to port the Access / Excel tools to the core platform incrementally using modern software design approaches such as DDD and TDD and the successful candidate will be asked to progress this. It is also desirable that the successful candidate will be able to work on developments for the main system, developing skills in other technologies.
