My client who is based in Bristol is looking for a DV Cleared Health and Safety Environmental Manager this is for an 18 month contract.

1.1Project Summary

My client will design, build and then support a full communications capability with the project lasting approximately 18 months delivering several capabilities drops and then handing over to a managed service owner.

1.2 Health Safety and Environmental Manager (HSE Mgr.)

The project has a need for security cleared HSE Mgr., who will be responsible for two stages of delivery.

The first stage is an urgent three-month requirement during Project Start-Up starting as soon as possible. The HSE Mgr. will be responsible for creating several Governance Documents deliverable to the customer as part of the first milestone.

These documents will need to be created in a very short space of time, but must be of a high-standard, realistic in their achievability, include all the relevant regulatory, customer and client requirements with a balanced approach to accepting responsibility or risk for the client.

The second stage will be to manage the HS&E aspects of the project, through-life and delivering a HS&E support capability to the Customer.

It is highly desirable that both stages are delivered by the same person, but because of the time scales involved and the security clearance required, the client will consider a short term contract for an SC cleared HS&E Mgr to deliver stage 1, with a DV cleared HS&E Mgr to deliver stage two.

*Gate Assurance of HSE compliance

*Safety and Environmental Case Reports (creating and maintained)

*HSE Incident and Support Process

*Facilitation of Safety Working Groups

*Safety Compliance Assessment

*HSE Support Capability (for Live System)

1.4 Skills and Experience:

*Relevant HSE Qualifications

*Previous production of SEMS/SEMP Documentation

*Knowledge of relevant MOD Def Standards, HSE Procedures and Safety and Environmental Protection Regulations.

*Working with eCassandra

*Close collaboration with design, build and test teams

*High quality formal document production

*Customer engagement and expectation management

*Short time frames and challenging deadlines

*Through-life management of HS&E in a

1.5 Line Management:

*Reports to the IOG Lead Project Manager

*Escalates to IOG Project Director, BT Health and Safety Lead or the Programme Board

*Supported by up to 50% of 1 FTE PMO Resource (subject to project priorities)
