Type - Contract
Duration - 3 months rolling contract
Rate - £40 - £45 per hour (Umbrella Company)
Location - Didcott, Oxfordshire

As part of ISIS Design Division Electrical (IDDE) Safety Systems team, you will be involved in the design and delivery of bespoke, optimized interlock systems protecting against hazards including ionizing radiation, machinery, high voltage and lasers.
You will be working on the modification of operational systems as well as clean sheet designs to meet customer specifications and both internal and relevant published standards. Experience of participation in safety lifecycle activities at high hazard facilities in the process or machinery sectors is desirable.
Participate in all safety and project lifecycle activities
Participation in the production of safety system documentation, i.e. functional specifications, Safety Requirements Specifications, SIL Verifications and Validation Plans.
Design bespoke safety system solutions, providing optimized designs from concept to manufacture, installation, operation and decommissioning.
Production of technical design and associated documentation
Production of technical drawings using AutoCAD.
Presentation of engineering designs for peer and stakeholder review.
Production of design risk assessments.
Essential:
Demonstrable experience in an electrical design environment.
Experience of working on technical projects within a project environment
Knowledge of BS7671 compliant cabling and industry best practice electrical manufacturing and installation techniques
Experience of AutoCAD and associated technical document management systems
Fully conversant with electrical circuit diagrams and 2D drawings
A good working knowledge of British and European electrical design and safety standards.
Knowledge and experience in the specification and design of control system panels to BS EN 60204-1:2018
Experience in design risk assessments
Experience in producing high quality electrical design engineering solutions to meet demanding technical and scientific requirements
Experience in the design and development of PLC and/or relay based safety interlock systems
Experience in the development of IEC 61508 / 61511 / BS EN 13849 functional safety systems and participation in the full safety lifecycle


Desirable:
Knowledge and experience of laser interlock system design requirements and implementation
Experience of designing for radiation environments
Experience of designing for high voltage environments
Experience of design and installations under CDM regulations
Good written and oral communication skills with staff at all levels.
Systematic, methodical and organized approach to work.
Strong self-motivation and good teamwork skills.
