Tottenham Court Road / Oxford Circus / Covent GardenDo you have an interest in real-world intelligence and how human behaviours can be analysed to provide insight-driven business decisions?As the global leader in their sector, this worldwide organisation are looking to add a Principal Data Engineer to their team who can come in and lead their small London based Data Engineering team to deliver ground-breaking insights. You will be leading this small team from a hands-on position, getting your hands dirty alongside your colleagues and trailblazing new ideas.The team you will be supporting have a huge impact on the business - their entire business is powered by the Big Data platform which spans across Engineering, Science and Analysis. They would like you to come in with an innovative brain to match your skill set, forever on the lookout to improve your products and ask why things are the way they are and not to just accept it.Generally across the business, coding is written in Scala and Python - often working in pairs, employees are encouraged to bounce ideas off each other and have regular conversations as to how the work can be improved. Coming in as the Principal Data Engineer, you will be seen as an expert, making sure that the work is efficient and as of high quality you believe to be possible. You will lead from the front in Design, proof of concept and implementation of your team's ideas.Key requirements:

- Design and implement data-processing products / ETL pipelines

- Work closely with Data Scientists, Analysts and Engineers

- Cloud knowledge and experience (AWS - Athena, Glue. GCP, Azure)

- Strong experience in Python or Scala programming languages

- Experience with Big Data tools (Hadoop, Spark, Presto, Hive)

- PostgreSQL / MySQL / BigQuery

- Any experience in Luigi Oozie or Airflow
