This is a fascinating opportunity for a Principal Digital Physical Design Engineer to join an impressive SoC company based in Manchester. Work permit sponsorship and relocation assistance can be provided.Our client specialises in complex chip designs for the satellite industry - they have full design and development capability from chip to product. As their silicon team expands, they seek a Principal Digital Physical Design Engineer to play a lead role for a small team and own the physical implementation of complex ASIC designs and test chips across multiple process technologies.
This will involve:
Physical implementation of block and chip level digital ASIC designs
Full block level timing closure and sign off including power planning and analysisInsertion of DFT test structures and chip level integrationLeading Place & Route (P&R) activitiesSome international travel may be involved from time to time, however this role will mainly be based from the UK office. As the successful Principal Digital Physical Design Engineer, you will be well-versed in the RTL-GDSII flow, with:
Expertise in Synthesis, Floor planning, Place and Route (P&R), Clock Tree Synthesis (CTS), Parasitic Extraction, Static Timing Analysis (STA) & Timing Closure, Physical Verification, Power Analysis and ATPG insertion/pattern generationChip level partitioning and assemblyScripting languages (Tcl/Python/Perl etc.)A good understanding of industry standards in deep sub-micron designsExcellent communication skills, able to technical lead a small team and liaise with third party IP suppliers and EDA tool vendors.You’ll enjoy the culture, creativity and dynamism of a start-up whilst enjoying the benefits of a global company.
