SCCM Engineer

SCCM Engineer - Edinburgh - Financial Services - £40-50k DOE + benefits

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced SCCM Engineer to join a well-established team within a globally recognised, blue-chip organisation.

As an SCCM Engineer, you will have experience working with Microsoft Windows desktop clients. Will be responsible for managing builds across customers' large desktop estate. Experience of SCCM and Thin Client technologies is essential.

Essential requirementsAdvanced knowledge of SCCM, for configuration management, OS, application and patch deployment.Ability to create custom SCCM reports for monitoring and proactively identifying issues on the managed desktop estate.Experience of change management process, testing and elements of design documentation.Advanced knowledge of Thin client technologies such as Citrix, Terminal Server, VDI, VMwareAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 (Enterprise and IOT) and WES7.MSI/scripted Software Application Packaging using standard tools to create MSIs and transform files.Desktop imaging and build technologies including application packaging and distribution solutions such as MDT, SMSProgramming/ scripting skills (e.g. Powershell)

DesirableWorking knowledge of Remote Desktop Services, including installations.Detailed knowledge of Windows file structure - file and folder permissionsGeneral knowledge in DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP servicesManagement of desktop group policies, user profiles and other environment management tools.Good understanding of Firewall fundamentals.Working knowledge of an industry standard IT Service and task Management tools e.g. JIRA, ServiceNow, etc.Experience working in an Agile methodology.Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends
