Architect / AWS / 4 Months / Yorkshire / Outside IR35 / ASAP / Remote Opportunities My client are looking for an AWS Architect to join their team as part of a large operation to reconstruct the operations and the internal infrastructure of the clients DB.This is a full greenfield project that is due to start in February, ready for implementation phase in May 2020. Role & ResponsibilitiesFull project life-cycle management for the initial migration to AWS from on premLiaise with external stakeholders and suppliersBuild, design and implement scalable cloud-based services and applications for PaaS, IaaS or SaaSCreate robust production quality applications and develop prototypes quicklyEstablish best practices associated with Unit Level testing and the incorporation of CI/CD principles into the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Ability to create and modify existing general development practices and techniques such as unit testing, integration testing, security testing and code quality measurementMaintain familiarity with emerging technologies. Works with end users, product analysts, and developers to understand features and technical implementations.Lead and collaborate with team to define and implement solutions with external and internal cloud services features such as auto-scaling, elastic load balancing, instance right-sizing, disaster recovery strategies, and tiered storage (using S3, Glacier, and Aurora)Assist in development and implementation of security best practices and initiatives at all levels of the cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices in an AWS environmentEstablish best coding practices to minimize code refactoring for Cloud agnostic development for AWS Requirements

Skills & QualificationsBS degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related fieldProfessional experience in commercial or web-scale system software development and deliveryProfessional object-oriented programming and design experienceAbility to design and implementation experience of scalable computing systems, software architecture, data structures, and algorithmsExposure to network, distributed, asynchronous, and concurrent programming techniques.Previously mentored or led talks in a technical leadership roleWorking knowledge of professional software development lifecycle best practicesBenefitsOutside IR35Ability to work remotely (partially)Investment in upskilling yourself and your team through events, networking and cutting edge technology
