Data Scientist Brighton £46,000 - £50,000 + Excellent Benefits We currently have an opportunity for a Data Scientist to join one of our main clients based in Brighton. They are a reputable government department who are mainly responsible for ensuring the funds of those saving for their retirement are protected.The successful candidate will use compelling visualisations and storytelling to explain the complex mathematical predictive models that have been created, enabling operational leaders to make decisions based on robust evidence bases, target inefficiencies in systems or processes across teams.Responsibilities Develop analyses and products that help the organisation understand its business and its regulated communitySolve complex problems using both internal and external datasetsBuild predictive models that help TPR achieve its strategic goalsMentor and develop more junior members of the team Desirable Experience Practical, applied and highly authoritative knowledge of specialized methods and processes, requiring considerable academic development in mathematics and statistics,Experience of instructing and supervising junior Data Specialists performing related activities that are precise in content and objective, providing analytical quality assurance.Competent in the use of open source programming languages, R and/or Python, as well as familiar with other languages on the estateExperience of communicating complex technical solutions in terms that non-technical stakeholders will understand, building trust in solutions that use novel or exploratory techniquesExperience of developing and deploying machine learning models to automate processes and create efficiencies with the business or to generate the data we want from the data we have This is a 12 month FTC.
