At the Home Office, our task is simple - to keep the UK safe. Doing this means working across a huge range of projects, dealing with some of the most high-profile and important issues the country faces. But protecting millions of people requires cutting-edge technology platforms and brilliant engineers who can expand our capabilities. If you're talented, tenacious and forward-thinking, you'll find yourself in good company. Join us at the heart of government, take advantage of huge opportunities and help us build an unrivalled department.

You'll play a central role in maintaining and supporting our platforms, working across our Application Container Platform (ACP), a leading-edge system that allows us to achieve high-velocity development and take advantage of the latest AWS features. While configuring our platform, developing new components/services or writing scripts for specific users you will use your background in cloud to make sure we are doing it right. You'll also advise our developers on best practice, platform/configuration issues as well as CI/CD pipelines - testing your own knowledge and experience. Beyond this, you'll contribute to our ongoing research and innovation, finding new and exciting ways to improve our skills and methods.

You should already have experience in DevOps and cloud technologies, preferably including technical skills in AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, OpenVPN and GitLab. Familiarity with Keycloak, SonarQube, ELK and Sysdig are also a bonus.

Whatever your role at the Home Office, we'll support your career plans and evolve your skills with exceptional tools, training and coaching. There's also a wealth of opportunity to move around and work across different teams. As a Civil Service employee, you'll be entitled to a wide range of benefits, including generous annual leave, flexible working, childcare and travel allowances, numerous staff networks and clubs, onsite facilities and a Civil Service pension.
