IC Resources is working with a client who is based in Glasgow who require a Systems Engineer. Our client is a global enterprise and leaders in the Semiconductor industry worldwide. They are searching for a System Engineer with a strong Linux and Unix background to join their team that works closely with their own support and development teams, with a focus on operating and maintaining customer facing environments. This a 6-month contract position and the successful candidate will be asked to start as soon as possible. Key Responsibilities:Working with cloud technologies and traditional on-premise infrastructure. Assisting with day to day maintenance and operations of core infrastructure and associated systems. Implement highly available and secure solutions. Configure monitoring and logging solutions. You will be encouraged to use your skills and knowledge to help develop others, whilst also learning form others in a collaborative environment.
Required Skills and Experience: Good communication skills. Strong documentation skills. Ability to work within agreed timescales and have strong commercial awareness. Strong Linux fundamentals, Debian, CentOS, FreeBSD would be an advantage. Docker container management and orchestration experience. CI/CD pipeline experience. Git, Gitlab. Configuration management tools such as Ansible / Terraform. VMware ESXI experience. Bash scripting. Networking awareness Routing, switching, security, firewalls.
