Job Title: German Speaking Structural Engineer Location: West Malling, Kent Salary: Competitive, depending on experienceJob Type: Full Time, PermanentThe Company is now recruiting for a Structural Engineer who is fluent in German to be responsible for delivering on high-end projects by assisting the Technical Director in initial concept development, project delivery, providing business support, coordinating with clients and other disciplines, design standardisation and proof checking of structural designs!The Role:This is a key role in the development and future growth of their International's German subsidiary. The ideal candidate will be fluent in English and German and be able to provide their Structural Engineering skills to their clients across Europe.The Structural Engineer will work closely with their GmbH sales team based in Germany and the design and detailing teams based at the Head Office in the UK, reporting to the Technical Director.Key Responsibilities:Analysing configurations of basic structural components of a buildingWorking closely with the sales team to assist in the completion of tenders for large scale projectsProviding calculation packages for clientsLiaising with draughtspersons and detailers regarding steel/connection designCompletion of site surveys to discuss designs and/or solutions with clientsGenerating structural reports and structural load assessmentsUsing computers and computer-aided design (CAD) technologyKey Requirements:Bachelor of Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalentHigh level of numeracy and literacyAbove average computer literacyA minimum of 5 years Industry practical experience, ideally within steelwork and mezzanine floorsIdeally experience of working as an Engineer within GermanyAttention to detail is critical3D conceptual skillsComputer application skillsMicrosoft Outlook, Word, ExcelA sound knowledge of British Standards and Eurocodes is required.Clearly spoken English and German is critical as is the ability to communicate in writingHigh level of communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, management and colleaguesThis role will require the successful candidate to work on projects both within the UK and Europe, so must be willing to travel when required.Please click the APPLY button to send your CV and Covering Letter for this role.
