Our client requires a Technical Support Officer (2nd line) for an initial 3 month contract (possibility of extension) in Durham. Main Duties:- To provide effective 1st and 2nd line ICT support.

- To maintain the existing ICT infrastructure by performing upgrades, new installations and carrying out routine procedures.

- Reconfigure complex network computer systems to deal with service demands and user requirements.

- Modify user accounts to control access to applications.

- Participate in the provision of an effective and efficient fault resolution service, recording actions via the IT helpdesk.

- Deploy PCs and associated software and peripherals including new installations and the redeployment of existing equipment.

- Ensure effective fault finding and problem solving to high or complex level. Experience:- Experience providing 1st and 2nd line ICT support across a large organisation.

- Experience in the use of Microsoft operating systems and all the ability to support bespoke systems which control and manage this highly complex environment.

- Experience of supporting computer hardware including PCs, Laptops and other peripherals.

- ITIL Awareness.

- Various operating system experience from multiple vendors, including, but not limited to Microsoft Windows.

- Experience within the National Health Service would be beneficial.

- This position may include travel between sites and the wider community. As such a full valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle will be beneficial.
