A well respected, worldwide manufacturing organisation based in the oldest University City in North Wales Bangor, Gwynedd has some great opportunities for highly motivated graduate and post graduate Software Engineers to join their expanding team.   Working in a rapidly growing industry, this is the perfect opportunity for individuals who want to work with pioneering technology, learning from the world's best engineers across a broad range of disciplines, working on ground-breaking power generation and propulsion projects in the aerospace industry.As a Software Engineer your responsibilities will include:

•Design, justification and testing of the electrical and electronic aspects of aeronautical propulsion and generation systems.•Covering bi-directional conversion of DC electrical power to mechanical power•Explore and conduct trade studies•Flight test the most efficient, power dense and innovative electrical and electronic methods to convert the power against platform performance and safety requirements•Typical activities will include: designing software to Development Assurance Level A for electrical power and control systems. These are likely to be 2 and 3 level inverters incorporating wide band gap semi-conductors, gate drivers, motor and generator controllers, motor control systems, monitoring and protection controllers.•Integrating systems with electric machines, avionics, crew interfaces, batteries, thermal engines and aircraft electrical networks.

As the Software Engineer you will need the following skills and experience:

•In Software/Systems engineering within the aerospace industry•Experience with embedded systems and microcontroller based software•FPGA based software, VHDL, Verilog•SPI, CAN, Ethernet •Experience with software/hardware testing and debugging
