About the organisation

Our client's purpose is simple, to save lives at sea. Since the 19th century, their crews have been risking their lives to save those who are in danger of drowning. They're looking for a CAD & PDM Applications Engineer to join their CAD & Configuration Team. This role supports the maintenance and optimisation of Computer Aided Design (CAD) & Product Data Management (PDM) systems to facilitate effective Asset Management, ensuring best value to our client in support of all assets throughout their operational life.

Your role

As a CAD & PDM Applications Engineer, you will be tasked with focusing on the following areas:

- Providing specialist expert level CAD & PDM applications development and support to users.
- Supporting and leading, when required, improvements in the use of CAD & PDM applications in support of effective product definition, engineering change control and configuration.
- Continually seeking opportunities for improvements in how CAD & PDM digital assets can be utilised both locally within the Engineering & Supply department and company-wide.
- Delivering CAD & PDM application functional improvements, fixes and upgrades, including testing new and existing applications.
- Working within projects utilising a project approach to implement and sustain change to CAD and PDM systems and their interface with our client's business systems.

About you

You'll be self-motivated, innovative and flexible, and eager to use and share your skills and experience; be confident leading a project as well as liaising with staff at all levels; able to communicate well and build good relationships with external suppliers and contractors.

To be considered as the CAD & PDM Applications Engineer you will need:

- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written and be a good listener
- Proven experience of delivering solutions on time and within budget
- Signification and proficient commercial experience of using and administering SolidWorks 3D CAD, 2D CAD and PDM applications (or similar)
- Significant experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite applications
- Experience of working with external suppliers and contractors
