Operational Risk Manager / Contract - Permanent / Location - Edinburgh /£NEG

We are looking for an Operational Risk Manager for a financial services client based in Edinburgh. The successful candidate ensure the organisation has an appropriate and effective operational risk management and control framework so that all material operational risks can be properly identified, evaluated, managed and approved through the implementation of effective governance structures and hierarchies.

Key Responsibilities:

*The continuous improvement/development and maintenance of the Organisations Operational Risk Management Framework to assure both operational effectiveness and efficiency.

*Responsible for the risk and control assessment process, providing evidence-based opinion and challenge where necessary.

*The continuous improvement/development and monitoring of the Organisations exposure to its operational risk appetite.

*Managing and supporting the operational risk scenario analysis used for Capital Modelling.

*Providing risk oversight and challenge on the effective management of operational risks

*Analyse First Line management information, papers and activity, face-to-face and in writing for submission to executive committees and boards.

*Maintaining a strong internal and external network and keeping up-to-date with the latest digital technology and approaches to operational risk management.

*Maintaining knowledge of risk trends across the sector that could be used to inform Oversight activity.

*Support the investigation, recording and reporting of significant risk events.

*To be system administrator for the Organisations Risk Management system.

Qualifications and Experience required for this role:

Essential:

*Relevant experience in operational risk management, within a financial services environment.

*Experience of developing and enhancing Enterprise Wide Operational Risk frameworks

*Experience of using issue management solutions.

*Audit/assurance

Essential:

Degree level in a numerical discipline, business studies, risk or economics.

Desirable:

Industry qualification(s) e.g. Risk
