Our Client, an expanding machining and fabrication company is keen to exploit opportunities for further growth and is seeking to appoint an enterprising Business Development Manager, with a track record in growing existing accounts, as well as identifying and developing potential new sectors and customers.  There are outstanding prospects for career progression based upon the achievement of objectives. The company is a well-established and profitable manufacturing organisation, with an outstanding reputation for quality and technological expertise, specialising in heavy machining and fabrication for a range of sectors, including oil and gas; marine; rail and power generation and aerospace both in the UK and well as internationally. As a Business Development Manager, your duties will be to:

Play a role in identifying new product opportunities, together with the possible procurement of associated capital equipment to yield a greater competitive advantage. Assist in the management and preparation of tenders, ensuring that they are issued in a timely manner, consistent with customers’ expectations and specifications, whilst meeting the Client’s margin expectations. 
 
To be a successful Business Development Manager you will have the following skills and experience:

Excellent engineering knowledge, ideally with HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and experience in Machining and Fabrication.Be a highly motivated self-starter, with a proven track record in new sales and exceptional customer service; as well as knowledge and application of CRM systems.Have a good knowledge of pressure vessels and/or heavy machining and fabrication together with associated markets and exceptional communication and negotiation skillsThe ability to work independently and be determined, tenacious and persistent in the pursuit of new opportunities.

In return, the Business Development Manager will receive remuneration up to £60,000 per annum plus bonus plus car allowance and benefits. In this Business Development Manager role, you will be expected to spend 2 -3 days per week maximum in the Leeds office and the rest of the time visiting customers. Potential candidates do not have to reside within daily travelling distance from Leeds and associated hotel costs will be reimbursed.
