I am currently recruiting for a Structural Engineer with Mechanical Engineering Experience. This is for a 6 month contract based in North Yorkshire for a very innovative client working on a very exciting project.Key Skills and Duties* Degree qualified - Mechanical* > 3 years Industry experience ideally in a mechanical engineering background (offshore is perfect but not essential)* Structural based mechanical engineer capable of deriving from first principles as a force analysis / load case document consisting of free bodied diagrams (understanding an assembly in its operating conditions and deriving loads acting on the various attachment points).* Able to perform basic hand calculations using shear forces and bending moment derived from the load case document* Knowledge of materials and mechanics* Able to then perform FE Analysis using the set of the predefined loads* Exposure of non-linear analysis, buckling and fatigue is desirable* Technical writing - methodical with an analytic mind set and tentative to detail* Some BS codes / standards exposure such as Lloyd's DNV, API, BS etc.* Solidworks 3D CAD and simulation proficient* Ansys Workbench proficient* Windows proficient If you are interested, please let me know and I will give you a call to discuss.
