I am currently looking for an Entry Level/Junior DevOps Engineer to join a fantastic established start-up business in Bath. Continuing it's great growth with an incredibly successful cloud based product. This role would be someone aspiring to be a DevOps Engineer.

This role is going to contain some fantastic opportunities to work alongside senior technologists and get exposure to the latest technologies whilst bolstering commercial experience. We are looking for someone who is hungry to develop, loves code and has a desire to grow within the company and DevOps

What we are looking for in a Junior DevOps Engineer; Computer science degree or relatable degree 2:1 or higher. Alternatively a minimum of 1 year's demonstrable commercial experience. We look for in-depth programming experience from education and ideally something like a home project, open-source contributions, placements/internships or professional experience.Key technologies; Python (essential), Bash or Java are desirable. Familiarity with Linux & OS systems will be required. Other valued tech is REACT, Windows, PowerShell, JSON, Apache CouchDB, .NET & C. Also valued is the Windows Server operating system.Familiarity with computer hardware, operating systems, networking and standard software packages. What will really stand out is passion about software development & technology.A pro-active, well communicated individual with a drive to achieve goals and maintain up to date knowledge on industry standards. Being able to connect the operations side to technology is crucial, so we need someone who can be the bridge between the two.Beneficial is knowledge around GitLab, Jenkins, Xen, ZFS/ZOL, Rundeck, Nessus, Selenium, Automated Integrations, Ubuntu repositories & related.

Roles and Responsibilities of a Junior Developer with us; Produce clearly readable code, re-using existing software and new development re-usable. Developing & maintaining the build, CI and Test Infrastructure.Taking product feedback and applying to development process.Build & deployment of environments & understanding what may cause failures at different parts of the process, analyse and resolve. Also documenting this work.Meeting project deadlines via planning and commitment.Openness to grow with industry and discuss DevOps technologies or industry matters, keeping this knowledge up to date.
