Senior PHP Developer - up to £60,000 - Newcastle-Under-Lyme -Remote working availableA big opportunity has arose to join a successful financial company that provides credit to retailers. They have grown 350% this year and are looking for developers to work on a greenfield project on topics such as machine learning and ecommerce. You will also get involved with the transformation of the DivideBuy estate from running on premise services to a AWS.80% hands-on technical solution design and full stack development, including software and database design and development in PHP, Laravel, JavaScript, MySQL MongoDB and related technologies.10% supporting business requirement definition to ensure good alignment to technical feasibility10% mentoring / coaching of junior developers and third party providersCore competencies:Strong knowledge of PHP web frameworks (Laravel)Understanding the fully synchronous behaviour of PHPUnderstanding of MVC design patternsBasic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3Knowledge of object oriented PHP programmingStrong knowledge of the common PHP or web server exploits and their solutionsUnderstanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable applicationUser authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environmentsIntegration of multiple data sources and databases into one systemFamiliarity with limitations of PHP as a platform and its workaroundsCreating database schemas that represent and support business processesFamiliarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languagesProficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git Additional preferred competencies:Familiarity with Continuous Integration / Continuous Development principles and applicationExperience with public cloud architectures such as AWS or Azure and their marketplace servicesFamiliarity with Security standards and controls
