Transformation Project Manager - 3 months - Barking

Local authority is looking for an experienced Transformation Project Manager who has experience of Out-sourcing and in-sourcing IT services.

The Project Manager will be required to lead projects allocated by the Programme Manager. The post holder will provide project management expertise on the assigned projects.

Responsibilities will be to:

- Manage projects for which they are accountable, taking responsibility for their accurate scoping, resourcing, reporting and delivery.

- Lead Project Teams, including organising, directing and motivating individuals to ensure the successful delivery of a range of projects.

- Undertake full project management duties as required, including the production of high-quality documentation within the specified constraints of time and cost. This will include (but not exclusive to):

- Project Initiation Documents

- Project plans

- Progress/exception reports

- Own the development of Business Cases, with the support from the PMO's business analysis capability, and ensure projects achieve the defined benefits.

- Manage business and project risks, including the development of contingency plans.

- Manage project budgets, ensuring outcomes are delivered on time and within budget.

- Understand when delegated decision making is required and take responsibility for change controls, assuring the overall direction and integrity of the project is maintained.

- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels from across the council and partner organisations.

- Liaise and negotiate with external suppliers and partners (as required) to secure services or products and agree appropriate costings (taking into considerations any procurement constraints).
