Job Role - SQL Developer Location - City of London Sector - Insurance Contract Length - 6 Months Daily Rate - Market Rate Start Date - ASAP SQL DeveloperThe role will involve building and maintaining insurance products within the SSP Insurance platform, with a week long training course being provided on SSP. Working with underwriters on a day-to-day to ensure understanding of business requirements, define the items of work for development and provide technical solutions be this within SSP or alternative IT platform solutionsThe role will involve working with business and IT on all projects and changes from concept to production, including support through testing phases.

Key responsibilities

Working with the business to understand requirementsFollowing training by SSP be fully conversant in the PB2 platform and be able to carry out change and new development on insurance products within the SSP systemProduct BuildsExisting Product changesPolicy documentation build and changeRate build and changeInvolved with the prioritising of development to fit business needsSupport UAT and manage defect fixes within timescales definedMaintain quality code by developing and following coding standards to avoid potential defects.Liaise with TP system providers to manage change through the environmentsProviding weekly summary reports on changes

Key skills and qualification

Expertise working on SQL, VBScript, VB.Net, Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Access, SQL Server)Strong communication skills, both verbal and writtenGood understanding of underwriting operations, processes and IT systemsGood interpersonal and relationship skillsHighly organised with an eye for detailsIf you have had previous experience working with SQL in the insurance industry, then please get in touch, as they are looking for someone to get started immediately.
