Lead Hardware Development Engineer

Location: Cheltenham

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

We are currently recruiting a Lead Hardware Development Engineer at a world-leading Engineering company. The company is listed on the FTSE250 and works in the defence and aerospace industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with proven experience in hardware engineering to join the team in a Lead role, and create and develop test equipment for power distribution products.

You will be responsible for -

· Creation of test equipment primarily for power distribution products across a range of aircraft

· Overseeing the hardware design process to produce test equipment designs

· Liaise with manufacturers to resolve design issues and ensure delivered equipment is fit for purpose

· Generate requirements data for software engineers to implement the appropriate tests and systems

· Provide technical leadership to the team supporting the relevant project

You will have the following-

· Degree in relevant Engineering subject

· Proven experience in a hardware engineering role

· Experience of power systems in a similar or adjacent industry (automotive, marine etc.)

· Experience in leading small teams would be beneficial or an obvious readiness to move up to team leader

· Ability to work on several projects at a time

· Understand of software languages or coding techniques (C, C++, LabView, TestStand) would be extremely advantageous

· Experience in test equipment design

· Ability to obtain BPSS clearance
