PACKAGE MANAGER Location: PlymouthRate: £35.00 - £50.00/hrDuration: 6 Months initially Devonport, in Plymouth, supports the Royal Navy's current surface ship and submarine fleets. Comprising of 14 dry docks, four miles of waterfront and 25 tidal berths, Devonport is the base for numerous surface vessels as well as the base and refit centre for the Trafalgar-class nuclear-powered submarines and various warships. It has also recently been selected as the base port for the Navy's new Type 26 frigates and will become the maintenance centre for the future submarine programme, including Astute and Dreadnought class. In order to deliver the MOD's submarine programme over the next 40 years, a significant programme of infrastructure investment will be required, and as such, they require a Package Manager whose primary purpose will be to lead and deliver distinct packages of development. This will include the likes of the following; Manage and control delivery of distinct package(s) of work as defined by the Project Manager.Ensure the scope of work definition will satisfy the project / package requirements.Develop plans, schedules and control of work information for defined packages, integrating with the wider project(s).Develop, monitor, forecast and report against budget.Undertake stakeholder management in relation to defined task.Ensure all works are planned and managed in a safe and appropriate manner. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate; Experience and knowledge of engineering works, e.g.: Civil works, mechanical or electrical systems / services, construction management and/or building demolition preferably within a marine led environment.Proven experience working in a managerial capacity.Proven experience with managing teams and large-scale infrastructure projects. Ideally, you will be degree qualified in an engineering related discipline or have a minimum of an HND with a proven level of related experience.
