Service Desk IT Support Technician / First & Second Line Desktop Engineer with excellent Desk Side and Remote Troubleshooting skills is required for a well-established Company based in Trafford, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, North West England.

SALARY: up to £25,000 per annum (depending on experience)

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Service Desk IT Support Technician / First & Second Line Desktop Engineer that has excellent Desk Side and Remote Troubleshooting skills.

Working as the Service Desk IT Support Technician / First & Second Line Desktop Engineer you will join the Helpdesk Team supporting the Company's EMEA IT Users both at Desk Side and Remotely.

As the Service Desk IT Support Technician / First & Second Line Desktop Engineer you will log, handle / troubleshoot and resolve or escalate service requests and incidents relating to laptops, peripherals, mobile devices, office software, email and IM / voice / video communications, etc., ensuring a high level of customer service is always maintained.

As the first point of contact for technical support, the successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills, and will be able to effectively manage their time in order to deliver on competing priorities

DUTIES

Your duties and responsibilities as the Service Desk IT Support Technician / First & Second Line Desktop Engineer include:

Provides 1st line support to all European users regarding availability, applications and daily use of hardware and software application as well as peripheral equipment

Responds to inquiries and requests for assistance with the Organisation's computer systems or PC's., Identifies problems, troubleshoots and provides advice to assist users

Installs new and maintains existing hardware and software

Assist in administering the Local Area Network security and Active-Directory for Europe

Assist the European System-Support Manager with other IS areas to resolve problems if necessary

Be aware of development in PC software (office automation applications) market 

Keep information Centre library well documented

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 5 GCSE's at grades A-C (or equivalent)

A solid understanding of service management disciplines

A technical qualification such as Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA

Previous experience in an IT Support / IT Junior position

Excellent communication skills

Excellent customer service skills

Excellent problem-solving skills

Genuine interest in IT and / or any other related subject
