This is a Grade 8 position, however If no suitable applicant is forthcoming at Grade 8, an appointment on the grade 7 scale (with appropriate adjustment of duties) may be considered. (Grade 7: £32,817 - £40,322)

The clinical informatics team within the Oxford Big Data Institute (BDI) are developing new software tools and data services to support medical research and healthcare innovation.   The team work closely with the researchers in the BDI, with colleagues in the NHS, and with national programmes such as Health Data Research UK.

The team is expanding, and we are looking for skilled software engineers and applied data scientists.   We can offer the opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the state of the art in clinical informatics, to participate in strategic, national programmes, and to work with world-leading research groups.

Applications are invited from anyone with a degree in a relevant discipline - such as computer science or software engineering - with excellent programming skills, a good understanding of data structures and models, and an interest in health data science. 

The posts are funded for three years in the first instance. They are funded as full-time positions, but we are happy to consider part-time appointments. The closing date for applications is noon on 12th November 2019.
