Well, one of the UK's largest and most trusted independent direct debit bureaux are currently looking for an experienced infrastructure engineer.
They are looking for someone with a Linux focus to join the team at an exciting time for the company. Having recently gone through significant growth they are now building an in-house infrastructure team with which comes all of the opportunity you would expect.
The ideal candidate is someone who can work effectively both on their own and as part of a team and is willing to share knowledge when needed. They value people who will pitch in and help with all aspects of their IT and a lot of new projects will come up amongst the standard 'Business As Usual tasks'.
While this role is focused on infrastructure and projects, the successful candidate will need to help out with Wintel systems and solve problems for staff within the company as well.
Your Responsibilities:
Work within the Infrastructure and Information Services team to keep all our IT systems working and constantly improve themEnsure that our security and resilience is continuously improvedInput to architectural direction and technology choiceOccasionally work out of hours to perform maintenance fixesDiligent attention to preventative maintenance (daily monitoring, log reviewing, backups, etc.)
It is essential that you are experienced with:
Linux administration and scripting (we use CentOS)Virtualisation - Hyper-V, Nutanix (AHV)Networking and firewallsAbility to document work clearly and in good EnglishAptitude to work in a controlled and audited way
It would be good if you also have:
Experience working within a secure and regulated environment where process and control is paramountWintel support and Active Directory (Windows 2012/2016)Exchange 2010MySQL administrationMS SQL administrationNagios
