Software Engineer

Would you like to be part of a technically challenging area of the business, gaining further skills? We currently have a vacancy for a Software Engineer in our Training Systems Group at our site in Broad Oak.

You will be supporting our project teams who design, build and support a number of training simulators used by the Royal Navy for operator, maintainer and warfare team training.

As a Software Engineer, you will be working with a wide range of software tools and delivering solutions to meet the customer requirements.

This role will provide you with excellent opportunities to develop your technical skills and develop within the business.

 

Your main responsibilities as a Software Engineer will involve:

Designing, developing, testing, configuring and delivering bespoke software for Royal Navy training solutions

 

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Knowledge of all phases of the software development life-cycle

Strong problem-solving skills

Software development, integration and testing skills in a software language such as C, C# or C++

BENG/BSC in Computer Science, or equivalent

Desirable:

Knowledge of development under Linux operating system

Knowledge of graphics software development

Knowledge of military software languages such as ADA

Knowledge of hosting and/or deploying software within a virtualization infrastructure
