QA Test Lead (Automation)

My client are looking for a QA Test Lead to develop and execute exploratory and automated tests for their web based applications.As a lead in the QA team, you will play an important role in developing a test strategy that will form a pivotal part of the development process for new and existing products. You will be responsible for organising, structuring and conducting tests to ensure that its deployment runs smoothly and meet client's needs.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and apply testing processes for new and existing productsCreate detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test casesEstimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activitiesDesign, develop and execute automation scriptsIdentify, record, document thoroughly and track bugsReview requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedbackLiaise closely with internal teams (e.g. developers and project/product managers)Stay up-to-date with new development and testing tools and test strategiesDevelop business/customer understanding and proactively contribute to and utilize the team's technical knowledge baseEnsure the highest levels of customer satisfaction throughout the testing activities acting as a primary contact point for customers. This includes internal and external customers.Lead, coach and mentor all personnel in the team to ensure high levels of utilizationComplete ad hoc duties and tasks allocated through line management

Skill Set

At least 5 years' proven experience in similar roleIdeally ISTQB certification to advanced level with Agile tester extensionExperience in JAVA, JavaScript or another OO LanguageExperience in Selenium Web Driver, Angular JS/Protractor and Cucumber (BDD)Experience in writing clear, concise test plans and test casesHands-on experience with automated test toolsProven work experience in software developmentProven record in driving improvements in testing processes, documentation and cross team collaboration across the businessExperience of the use/management of automated testing tools/simulatorsThe ability to handle and prioritize multiple issues at the same timeExperience of managing testing teams of employees and contractorsAble to communicate technical issues to non-technical customers and ensure that updates on progress are delivered effectivelyThe ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken EnglishStrong attention to detail with a good level of analysis and problem-solving skillsThe ability to build effective relationships and to work as part of a team with a pro-active approach to ensuring delivery So What Next?If this is an opportunity that genuinely interests you, and you believe that you've got what it takes to be a successful candidate, I would be more than happy to arrange a conversation with you to discuss this further.You can call me on 0191 338 7614.
