The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service dedicated to the nuclear industry. We provide a first class service for the protection of nuclear material and facilities - to do this we need to get every detail right. Compliance with professional standards and security are critical to our work, which means your role will be essential.

We wish to recruit a suitable candidate to undertake the duties of Deputy Security Manager.

This is a critical post within our organisation requiring an excellent knowledge of Protective Security: IT, Physical, Information, Personnel and Security Education, which falls within the compliance framework and you, will oversee the entire range.

You will assist the security manager in the management and co-ordination of the security department activities and resources both based at HQ and UK wide to ensure organisational compliance with both internal and external security policy standards and expectations. You must also be experienced and capable of dealing on a regular basis with senior management and staff of all levels and proficient in carrying out security inspections of our external delivery partners. The role holder will require proven leadership and managerial qualities.

You must be able to demonstrate an ability to work flexibly within the range of your own competencies and you must have undertaken appropriate development to extend your skills and abilities to meet the needs of the business.

Due to the duties of this post, the role holder will be required to be a British National and will be required to obtain Developed Vetting via National Security Vetting process and Police clearance.
