Purpose

Embarking on a major IT Transformation project to drive change throughout our businesses, we seek Solutions Architects to perform end-to-end solutions architecture which meet ScottishPower's business requirements. These positions will require the role holders to have a breadth of experience across IT platforms, IT software and Business applications and a wide view of IT industry trends.

As Solution Architecture (SA) is a complex role and bridges the gap between business problems and technology solutions, the Solutions Architects will lead and design the overall end-to-end technical vision to define and deliver digital platform solutions (Chatbots, RPA and/or IoT solutioning) and open platform solutions such as middleware (Redhat Fuse, API Management) across all ScottishPower businesses.

Responsibilities

Being responsible for corporate platform components which includes security such as antivirus, data technology architecture models, application architecture models, standards and roadmaps which contribute to the wider architecture model, the Solutions Architects will maintain and develop ScottishPower's technology architecture, including associated standards and roadmaps to promote innovation and application of emerging technologies within the context of a business driven solution.

Keeping abreast of industry and technology change, including networking with industry and IT peers to ensure ScottishPower's IT standards and architecture model adopts best practice and provides best value IT solutions, the Solutions Architects will be responsible for Technical Solution and Infrastructure Architecture Design - working closely with our UK IT teams, in a highly collaborative manner, to ensure that solutions being developed for business projects comply with Iberdrola Group standards. 

Skills & Requirements

Possessing consulting experience across varied customers and industries with deep understanding of business Applications and Infrastructures, getting involved in setting strategic direction to establish near term goals for area of responsibility, the role holder will have substantial experience in software development lifecycles covering Business Application and Infrastructure design, development and implementation. Experience of packaged and bespoke Applications and Infrastructures developed covering .Net, Java and modern web development frameworks are required, including a business understanding of the Energy and Utility market to provide solutions to complex business problems for areas of responsibility where analysis of situations requires an in-depth knowledge of organisational objectives.

What We Offer

This is a permanent contract. Salary for this role will be from £47,600 to £59,500 per annum. Other benefits for this role include a performance related bonus up to 10% and single cover health care.
