DevOps Lead (SC Preferred) - Malvern - 6 Months My client is looking for a DevOps Lead, ideally with an active SC Clearance for a team based in Malvern, Worcestershire. The role will be full time on site and the client can offer a competitive daily rate. The client is a well-respected, large organisation within the defence and technology industry. Role Summary: The Develops Lead will help the client's Enterprise Cyber business adopt and implement DevOps best practices, processes and tooling, with a view of creating an enduring DevOps capability across our suite of managed cyber security service offerings. Working across a large-scale business transformation programme the role will look to co-ordinate IT system development activity, whilst also taking the lead in defining how the business develops a DevOps capability. Specific ResponsibilitiesProvides DevOps thought leadership and mentoring in both advisory and delivery contexts, focusing on the requirements of the Enterprise Cyber business and how these are best served by continuous improvements to our IT delivery approachApplies DevOps thinking - i.e. brings development and IT ops processes, people and tools closer together - in order to increase the speed, efficiency and quality of IT technology platforms in support of the business suite of managed cyber security services.Defines and executes a balanced management methodology that can organise a diverse collection of technical activities into a coherent work-stream.Liaises with development teams, IT service groups and 3rd party suppliers to encourage process transparency, mutually-beneficial design and delivery practices, and a clear view of roles and responsibilities across the development pipeline. Knowledge, Skills and Personal Qualities RequiredGood understanding of Agile methodologies, processes and technologiesWorking in complex enterprise environments.Experienced in architecture design and deliveryLinux and/or Windows systems engineering.Strong experience in AWS and other public cloud platformsContinuous Integration and Continuous Delivery methodologies and technologiesStrong grasp of container technology including container orchestration with tools such as Kubernetes, Rancher, Docker Swarm, Nomad or similarSolid Configuration Management ExperienceGood understanding of Microservices and APIsLeadership experienceActive SC Clearance Preferred
