This is an exciting opportunity for a Principal level digital design engineer to join my client, a leading provider of in chip monitoring and optimisation IP.This role is located close to outstanding beaches and exceptional coastline, rolling hills and lush green countryside, the dramatic moors and all the entertainment, shops and restaurants offered by a beautiful City. Being Principal level this is undoubtedly a challenging role which will require a Principal level engineer to provide technical leadership for engineering design projects, specify, architect, design, simulate, and verify IC circuits, blocks, or full chips. Mentor and develop team members supporting the succession needs of the organisation.The role:Provide technical lead on a range of engineering projects from a digital perspective.Draft and ratify block requirement specifications.Lead peer review process and act as a driver for quality assurance within engineering.Assist engineering management with project planning and feedback on technical status of projects.Communicate directly with customer where technical input is required.Design and simulate circuits to agreed requirement specifications.Create appropriate documentation to support designs Qualifications, Skills & Experience:Bachelors, Masters, PhD or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering or a related fieldPrevious technical lead experience in a similar role A solid background working on Digital Design for ASICsA sound working knowledge of ASIC digital physical implementation flow, from design specification to RTL coding, synthesis and verificationStrong RTL coding ,ideally System VerilogA good understanding of current functional and formal verification techniques.An awareness of mixed signal IP development (desirable) Programming and scripting skills in C, Python, tcl, bash (Desirable)There can be an element of remote working for this role - but you will be required to be on site in Plymouth regularly.
