MacclesfieldPerfect opportunity for a technically motivated engineer who wants to upskill across all key areas of infrastructure whilst working within a supportive and progressive business that values its staff!Are you looking to become a technically well-rounded 3rd line support engineer within a globally renowned company offering huge technical exposure and occasional international travel?Established many years ago, our client is a rapidly expanding business that has over 150 sites globally and is the market leader in providing engineering solutions that have application into all industries! Expanded through acquisitions and plans to continue doing so, this is a fascinating business that is striving to have a centralised and standardised in-house IT infrastructure creating constant challenging project work in a range of interesting environments.

Initially you will join the business and undergo 3-6 months BAU work to get you up to speed on key infrastructure technology. Once up and running you will be responsible for working within a small but experienced 3rd line team slip between BAU and project work supporting the global operation. Key technology will include; Active directory, windows server, VMware, Azure, office 365, exchange, network, storage, SCCM, SQL, backups. Occasional travel to Europe will be expected (roughly once a month for 5 days - Monday - Friday 5pm). * Technologies include; Active directory, Windows, Exchange, SCCM, VMware, Windows server, cisco networking, Azure, office 365, storage, exchange.

* Initially BAU (3-6 months) progressing into project work.

* Occasional travel (UK and occasionally Europe - Monday to Friday - Paid)

* Progression into a project analyst (solutions architect) 2-3 years

* working within a small close knit and experience 3rd line team

The person:*3rd line support experience

* strong windows experience

* Active directory experience

* Windows server experience 2003 - 2012

*Understanding of networking fundamentals (LAN, WAN and Switches).

* VMWare experience

* Working knowledge of ITIL

* Happy to travel internationally in the working week (once a month at most)

* Looking to become an IT expert across multiple technology
