As an engineer who already has experience programming PLC or SCADA systems from scratch, the variation in technical challenges will allow you to both broaden your technical expertise and maintain that enjoyment of solving new problems and challenges which keeps work always feeling fresh.
You will be able to take complete ownership on projects which will include hardware & software design, programming and commissioning of PLC-based automation systems and equipment. If you prefer to work unsupervised and like your working time broken up with a degree of travel which equates to around one day a week then this role will be a great fit for you.
Experience of developing software within a high level language
Familiarity with software version control system (Subversion or Git)
Structured text coding (e.g. Beckhoff TwinCAT, Siemens SCL or Omron Sysmac)
Knowledge of network fieldbus based I/O and control systems
This role will offer you a salary of £35,000 - £45,000 depending upon experience.
