Cloud Development ManagerCanary Wharf6 months initially £ - Competitive Our client requires, 1 Cloud Development Manager to work on site in London on an initial 6 month contract.We are looking for a self-motivated and driven technologist, able to work and manage teams in a globally distributed environment and in collaboration with other technologists, product and proposition managers at all levels. The candidate will preferably have professional experience in a development management role and have extensive, working experience with cloud-native application development and cloud database technologies. The role will be based in the UK reporting into the Head of Data Distribution Technology.Key Responsibilities Lead a distributed team of engineers to define, scope, deliver and maintain data distribution capabilities to cloud-based big data and analytics platformsSet best-practices and standards for cloud database distribution and development across the broader EDP product engineering organisation and lead the communication / collaboration across this communityIdentify and recommend opportunities to optimise the delivery model / processes and executionEffectively and proactively identify, plan and resolve key program risks. Identify program/project is "off track" to plans and take immediate corrective actionsEffectively manage stakeholders at all levels through proactive, transparent communicationsRequired Skills/Experience Accomplished technologist with previous success delivering cloud-native applications or products on one of the major vendor cloud platforms (Azure, Google, AWS)Extensive background / working knowledge of developing applications in Java and/or Python and one of the following technologies: AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, Lambda, IAM, Aurora, API Gateway etc.); cloud database technologies (AWS RDS, Aurora, Postgres, Azure SQL, etc.); CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code technologies (Terraform, CloudFormation)Solid technical background with understanding of programming styles, frameworks, design patterns and unit testing.Background in product and development life-cycles - across product definition, software development, production implementation and support operations.
