Applications Support Analyst - London

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 + Benefits

My Client is recruiting for a fantastic Application Support Opportunity to work within the operations team. You will be joining a team which supports and develops applications primarily using Microsoft and Web Technologies and will be working closely with the Digital and Operational teams, Business teams, external teams and suppliers to develop and maintain their application infrastructure.

Essential Skills:

*Hands-on operational experience of working in, supporting and administering a modern operational application infrastructure, e.g., Microsoft IIS, Apache HTTP, Apache Tomcat (in a Windows server environment) and systems development tools and architecture: ASP, MVC, C#, .NET, and knowledge of standalone database systems, clustering and replication. Knowledge of PowerShell scripting, SQL database systems and tools and working with complex datasets

*Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and solve diverse or non-routine problems independently and effectively, often under time or business pressures with demonstrable skills to identify and remove the root cause(s) of incidents through testing and gathering evidence leading to effective action

*Good Understanding of common application architectures, administration of databases and practical knowledge of scripting for automation e.g. PowerShell or viable alternative(s) for a primarily Microsoft environment and experience in configuring and deploying cloud-based applications, ideally using Microsoft services

*Customer-focused with excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills, so that complex technical issues may be clearly explained to colleagues

Desirable Skills:

*Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification

*Experience of SharePoint administration, ideally using O365

*Proficient in scripting for automation C#, Java, Tomcat, PHP, Apache

*Experience of configuration management and automation, cloud technologies and tools for automated application testing
